Care

Cordaan

Cordaan took a big step toward data-driven care. With help from ddbm (Previously: The Information Lab), they built a self-service data platform that enables better insights and more efficient processes. The result? Higher quality of care and improved employability.

Challenge
Cordaan was striving to provide better care for clients, be an attractive employer and maintain financial stability. To achieve these goals, an important step was to make high-quality data accessible and intelligently utilized. This would lead to better insights, informed decisions and improved performance.

Solution
Together with ddbm (Previously: The Information Lab Netherlands), Cordaan implemented a self-service cloud data platform, consisting of:

  • Fivetran: for data integration,
  • Snowflake: as a data cloud platform,
  • dbt: for data modeling,
  • Tableau: for data visualization.
This solution enables easy access, storage, modeling and visualization of data. In addition, the BI team and end users were trained to make optimal use of the new environment.

Result
Cordaan now has one central, secure location where data is accessible and clearly laid out. This allows employees to create reports faster and easier and make better informed decisions. This contributes to:

Better quality of care,
Improved employability,
More efficient operations.

About Cordaan

Cordaan helps people who need short-term or long-term nursing, care or assistance, from young to old. So that you can live independently as much as possible. Preferably at home, in your own environment. Or, if that is not possible, in a care environment where you feel comfortable and where you can be yourself.

Cordaan's Vision
Cordaan is fully committed to data-driven work to not only analyze the past, but also predict and drive future outcomes. The goal is to give employees at all levels the tools to use data effectively. This aligns with their ambition to bridge the gap between clients' needs and the organization's services.

By choosing an intuitive, self-service solution, employees influence how information is displayed. This increases adoption and encourages a culture of data-driven decision-making.

The Road to New Insights
For the transition to data-driven work, several obstacles were addressed, including:

Time-consuming and inefficient data analysis processes,
Limited access to and visibility of data for employees,
Complexity in managing data from different sources.
The Information Lab supported Cordaan every step of the way: from inventory and proof of concept to implementation and training. Low-code/no-code tools made it easier for employees to get started with data themselves.

Impact on the Future
With the new platform, Cordaan not only has a better grip on operational processes, but also a foundation for strategic insights. In the future, external data will be added to better address issues around labor productivity, housing and staff development.

"The simplicity of using the tooling and unlocking and processing the data in the right way is of course important. But more important is informing and training the different types of users within our organization. Ddbm (Previously: The Information Lab) has helped us with this and will continue to be involved in enthusing the users in the coming period."
